Professors demand inclusion

KATHMANDU: Democratic Professors' Association (DPA) organised an interaction on 'inclusiveness in university education' here today.

Presenting a concept paper, DPA vice chairman Akhilesh Kumar Singh said Madhesis had little or no representation at the highest level in Tribhuvan University, while only 20-30 per cent of teachers and staffers there represented the Madhesi community.

He noted that the second people's movement and the Madhes revolution had forced the state to share its resources and opportunities among people of all classes, castes and creeds equitably. Singh demanded that the laws governing education be amended to ensure inclusiveness.
