Prohibitory order around ICC

Kathmandu, August 6:

The Kathmandu District Administration Office has issued a prohibitory order banning rallies, sit-ins and demonstrations, mass meetings and parking of vehicles near the International Convention Centre and other surrounding areas. The order will take effect from tomorrow.

According to the DOA, the prohibitory order has been issued to maintain law and order. The order will be effective until further notice.

Rallies, sit-ins and mass meetings have been banned on the road, public parks and footpaths around the centre. However, rallyists marching from the east to west and vice-versa can use the footpath in the south of the main road. Organisers, however, cannot stage protests and

sit-ins and organise mass meetings in front of the convention centre.

The DAO said rallies can be taken out in the vacant land in Tinkune.
