3 lawmakers register proposal of urgent public importance on border blockade

KATHMANDU: Three lawmakers registered a proposal of urgent public importance over the ongoing border blockade in the Legislature-Parliament Secretariat on Friday.

Laxman Rajbanshi, Shivalal Thapa and Jayadev Joshi registered the proposal demanding that it be discussed in the House on the backdrop of India's unofficial blockade against Nepal.

Stating that India has stopped the entry of daily essentials including fuel and medicines into Nepal country for the past three months in violation of the transit facility that a landlocked country is entitled to as per the international laws, the three argued that this action of India was a direct infringement on Nepal's sovereignty and independence.

They also urged the Parliament to approve the proposal soon after including it in the agenda of the Parliament.
