Public Account Committee sub-panel to probe NTV irregularities

KATHMANDU: The Public Account Committee of the Parliament formed a five-member sub-committee in order to probe why a report of the committee formed to investigate into irregularities in the state-owned Nepal Television was not implemented.

The sub-committee headed by lawmaker Dor Prasad Upadhyay would present its report within a month.

MPs Bikash Lamsal, Parbati BC Chaudhary and Mohan Bahadur Basnet are other members of the sub-committee. The fifth member will be appointed later.

The PAC today also directed the Ministry of Information and Communications to keep the General Manager and other staff of NTV implicated by the Committee formed by the Ministry away from regular duty until the sub-committee completes its responsibility.
