PYC students agree to retake exam

Kathmandu, July 11

Post-graduate students of business studies at Public Youth Campus, Dhobichaur, have agreed to retake accounting examination on July 15.

On July 8, the Office of the Comptroller of Examinations, Tribhuvan University, had formed an investigation committee after errors were found in the results of 195 students of the college. According to Balaram Thapa, deputy campus chief, the teacher who was assigned to check answer-sheets hadn’t checked the papers.

“The OCE had assigned a teacher in Chitwan to check the papers, but he could’t check them as he was out of the country. OCE then misplaced the papers.”

Thapa claimed that the concerned teacher was not at fault and the OCE was entirely to blame for the fiasco. However, students have no choice but to retake the exam.

“Students are ready to retake the exam and the date has been fixed as per their convenience,” informed Thapa. He said half of the students did not have information about the re-examination. “We are trying to inform them personally,” he added.

OCE has promised to publish the results within two days of the re-examination.
