Dahal calls Maoist leaders to come together
KATHMANDU: CPN Maoist Centre Chairman and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has asked all Maoist forces and leaders to come together to safeguard achievements of the armed conflict.
Launching a book on the life of late Maoist leader Bhakti Prasad Pandey in Kathmandu today, Dahal said there was no any alternative to various Maoist outfits coming together.
"The people's war brought the republicanism. Also, there was the Constitution. We achieved federalism, inclusiveness and secularism," he said, "But, now attempts are being made if these achievements can be subverted after seeking Maoist forces becoming weaker."
Hinting at Baburam Bhattarai, his wartime comrade who left the Maoist movement to form a new political party last year, Dahal said, "We were yet to bear the responsibility of Constitution implementation. We could achieve a common conclusion through discussions."
"But, Baburamji hurried. Even today, I think his exit was not normal."
Bhattarai, Maoist leader Dinanath Sharma and late Pandey's son Bishwadeep had also spoken at the function.
Meanwhile, speaking at another function organised to mark the Mao birth anniversary, Dahal stressed the need to continue the struggle unless the proletariat class would secure the victory.
