Joshi promises ‘well-managed’ metropolis

Nepali Congress’ Mayoral candidate for Kathmandu Metropolitan City Raju Raj Joshi promised that he would focus on making Kathmandu Metropolis a well-managed prosperous city.

Speaking at the local manifesto declaration programme organised by NC District Working Committee Kathmandu, Joshi said, “We will build flyovers and metro stations, an international stadium, and manage the traffic of the city.” He said he would act and show rather than talk.

He also promised to build modern footpath, and well-managed, free vehicle parking lots. Deputy mayoral candidate of the party Hari Prabha Khadgi (Shrestha) said that she would stress on developing domestic entrepreneurship.

The manifesto has focused mainly on garbage management, crisis management and urbanisation management of Kathmandu.

Talking to THT, Joshi said public schools of the metropolitan city will be unified and improved in terms of quality. “We will try to improve public school so that they can secure 100 per cent result,” he added.

Joshi declared his plan to generate electricity from garbage in Kathmandu. “I have heard that we can produce up to 20 Mega Watt electricity from garbage,” he added.
