Rani Pokhari water tested

Kathmandu: The KMC on Saturday tested the quality of water in Rani Pokhari. The test was carried by the Urban Environment Section (UES) in order to save fish from dying due to lack of dissolved oxygen. UES dissolved 50 litres of bio-chemical solution in the pokhari water to help increase the oxygen quantity in the water, said chief of UES, Robin Man Shrestha.

Two technicians from Advanced Bio-Chemicals Ltd from India, Surendra Rao and Mukti Chaterjee, lent their expertise to the KMC endeavour. The Environment and Public Health Organisation helped the technicians in their work, KMC officials said.—HNS
