KATHMANDU: Nepali cine star Rekha Thapa has joined the Rastriya Prajatantra Party today.

In a programme organised by the party in the Capital, RPP Chairman Kamal Thapa welcomed actress Thapa to the party.

Expressing her pleasure in joining the party, actress Thapa said that her spirit matched with the party as she was a Hindu and a nationalist.

Thapa has played the major role as the lead actress in dozens of Nepali movies.

Earlier few weeks ago, famous Nepali folk singer Komal Oli had also joined the RPP.

Earlier, it was widely rumoured that actress Thapa was close to the CPN Maoist Centre.
