Religious festivals promote peace, prosperity: PM

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal today said the religious festivals would play a vital role to lead the society towards prosperity, peace and non-violence.

Attending the Krishna Pranami Dharma Mahotsav and 1200 Parayan at Navatandham in Gothatar, Prime Minister Nepal said, "Such activities will help promote the tourism as well."

The festival was inaugurated by President Dr Ram Baran Yadav five days ago.

Swami 108 Krishnamaniji felicitated PM Nepal by wrapping a shawl over his shoulder on the occasion. Over 300,000 people from Nepal, India and other countries have attended the festival.

More than 17,000 people from out side the Kathmandu valley were provided accommodation in the festival.
