Renowned neurosurgeon Dr Upendra Devkota admitted to Neuro Hospital

KATHMANDU: Nepal's renowned neurosurgeon Dr Upendra Devkota, who is also the founder of the first neurological trauma unit in Bir Hospital, has been admitted to Neuro Hospital in Bansbari, Kathmandu.

Earlier, Dr Devkota had undergone treatment at the London-based King's College Hospital for five months and returned to Nepal on Saturday.

Official at the Neuro Hospital said Dr Devkota is in a stable condition but declined to share further details regarding his heath.

However, in an exclusive interview-series with one of the online news portals, Desh Sanchar, Devokata has been quoted as saying that he has been diagnosed with Bile Duct Cancer (Cholangiocarcinoma) by the team involved with his treatment at the King's College Hospital.
