Research fund for engineers soon

Kathmandu, May 6:
Vice-chairman of National Planning Commission Dr Shankar Sharma said today the government would set up a research fund so that engineers could spend more time in developing innovative ideas.
“We want all the engineers of the country to take part in the nation’s progress,” he said while
addressing the ninth National Convention of Engineers today.
DBJ Ranatunga, the president elect of Engineering Institute of Sri Lanka, who was impressed by Safa tempos in the Valley, said there were many sectors in which Nepali and Sri Lankan engineers could collaborate.
The two-day event will see 88 working papers presented in addition to 14 key note speeches from different sectors of engineering.
Meanwhile, the third Engineering and Development Expo was also inaugurated by Dr Sharma.
Accoding to Hareram Shrestha, the convenor of the expo, 72 stalls, associated with housing and construction sector were displaying their projects and services in the exhibition.
