Resolve disputed constitutional issues, Rae advises
Kathmandu, January 25
Indian Ambassador Ranjit Rae has urged Nepali stakeholders to sort out disputed issues of the constitution before they become more complex.
Responding to a query during his interaction with media in the capital today, the Indian envoy warned things could get more complicated if disputed issues remained unresolved for long.
He, however, made it clear that India won’t be prescriptive on Nepal’s domestic issues.
Meanwhile, Ambassador Rae said India never interfered in the domestic affairs of Nepal. Rae is completing his over three-year stint as India’s point man in Kathmandu next month.
Speaking on the eve of the 68th Republic Day of India, Ambassador Rae said despite some apprehension among a section of Kathmandu polity, many Nepali didn’t believe that India interfered in Nepal’s domestic matters.
Ambassador Rae also stressed on taking forward the bilateral relations between the two countries focusing on economic partnership.
