Restaurants raided, 35 held

KATHMANDU: Police on Tuesday raided restaurants at Goldhunga and held 35 persons including 18 women for indulging themselves in illegal and immoral activities.

The arrested ranged from waitresses to highly educated men and women.

DSP Basanta Bahadur Kunwar, in charge of Metropolitan Police Circle Balaju, said many of them were call girls. "We arrested them red-handed while indulging in closed-door immoral activities," he informed.

The arrests were made from Fulbari Restaurant, Friendship Restaurant, Snow Peak Hotel & Restaurant, Bishranti Hotel & Restaurant, Madhuban Resort and Purnima Guest House.

Kunwar said a public offence act would be lodged against them.
