Restaurateur held with cache of pharmaceutical drugs

KATHMANDU: Police arrested a person in possession of a cache of pharmaceutical drugs from Phutung, Tarakeshwor Municipality-17, on the outskirts of Kathmandu.

A team deployed from the Lainchaur-based Metropolitan Police Circle on Monday raided a restaurant, run by the 30-year-old suspect Ramesh Prajapati, acting on a tip-off that he dealt on contraband drugs also.

Police seized as many as 2100 ampoules of Nitravet. The cache was stashed away in an underbed drawer in the second floor of Prajapati's house, according to police.

One Rahul Maharjan (21), who is believed to be Prajapati's friend, has also been taken in custody for investigation, police said on Tuesday.
