Review of civil servants salary

KATHMANDU: Minister for Finance Surendra Pandey on Wednesday said that the government would take initiatives to review the salary of the civil servants. Replying to the queries of the lawmakers in Wednesday’s parliament session on the budget unveiled on Monday Pandey said that he had taken the demands of the civil servants seriously and will discuss with the union representatives later.

Meanwhile, speaker Subash Nembang informed that Deputy Prime Minister Bijay Kumar Gachhadar was appointed as the Prime Minister in the absence of Madhav Kumar Nepal who is in Egypt to participate in the 15th summit of Non-Aligned Movement. The parliament passed the Vote on Account bill presented by Finance Minister Surendra Pandey through a voice vote. Loan and guarantee bill, collection for nation debt bill and appropriation bill at the parliament were also tabled in today’s session. The parliament session has been postponed to July 19.
