Roshani, her husband part ways

KATHMANDU: Roshani Shahi, the woman who was allegedly raped by Krishna Bahadur Mahara, and her husband, Chitra Jung Shahi, have decided to part ways.

“We have happily decided to live separately....ending 28 years of marriage,” says a note signed by the couple, a snapshot of which was posted on Chitra Jung’s Facebook page on Thursday morning.

The authenticity of the Facebook post could not be independently verified by THT, as neither Chitra Jung nor Roshani could be contacted. It is not known whether the rape scandal surrounding Mahara, who has since resigned as House speaker, prompted the couple to part ways.
