RPP leader Jog Meher passes away

KATHMANDU: Jog Meher Shrestha, vice-chairman Rastriya Prajatantra Party passed away this morning at the age of 84. He was admitted to the B & B Hospital, Lalitpur, four days ago after he complained of severe pain in the urinary bladder.

Shrestha was born in Sankhu, Kathmandu. He was survived by one wife, four daughters and one son. His last rites were performed at the Pashupati Aryaghat.

He held various ministerial portfolios during his long political career. The RPP held its central committee meeting and paid tribute to Shrestha and expressed deep condolences. The meeting also decided to lower the party flag half-mast and not to conduct official functions for the next three days. The party has also decided to hold condolence meetings in all districts, municipalities and VDCs on December 17, said party spokesperson Khemraj Pandit in a press statement.
