Rs 2 lakh vanishes in thin air
Kathmandu, April 21:
An unidentified person made away with a bag containing two lakh rupees belonging to Rishi Prasad Gatuam, a staffer at the Asian Thai Foods, from Teku this morning.
After withdrawing money from the Teku branch of IME Financial Institution, Gautam said while returning to a workshop where he had given his motorcycle for repair he felt like itching all over.
“I thought somebody had put itching powder on my body and I tried to wash it off at a water pump near the workshop. While I was doing so someone made off with my money bag clandestinely,” Gautam told the police.
Gautam said his father had sent money from abroad for his younger sister’s marriage scheduled to be held within a few days.
“I was planning to deposit the money at the Kumari Bank branch at Gwarkho before
sending it to Chitwan for the sister’s scheduled marriage,” Gautam, who also hails from
Chitwan, said.
Police said that the investigation is underway.
