Ruling UML Chair KP Sharma Oli had called the meeting

Chairperson of ruling CPN-UML and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has called an 'emergency' meeting of the party's Standing Committee, today.

The meeting is underway at the Prime Minister's official residence in Baluwatar.

The meeting was called a day after the PM visited the president of main opposition party, Nepali Congress, Sher Bahadur Deuba, at the latter's private residence in Budhanilkantha.

PM Oli is due to face vote of confidence in the House of Representatives on May 10, the President has already summoned a special session for which.

It is expected that Oli will brief the party's SC about his visit to Deuba, the approaching floor test, as well as National Assembly elections due later this month.
