SAARC labour ministers to meet in May

KATHMANDU: A two-day meeting of labour ministers of SAARC region would be held in Kathmandu from May 3 to make a common concept for protection of migrant workers.

According to the Foreign Employment Promotion Board, labour and employment ministries and high-government officials of the countries sending workers for overseas employment would participate in the meeting.

Assistant Director at the Board, Dipendra Paudel, told the Rastriya Samachar Samiti that the meeting would prepare a common concept regarding rights, welfare and security of migrant workers of the SAARC region.

The meeting is going to be held for the first time in Nepal.
