Sajha Prakashan seeks Prime Minister Oli's help
KATHMANDU: Office-bearers of Sajha Prakashan have urged Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to save the state-owned entity from collapse.
At a meeting with PM Oli at his official residence in Baluwatar, General Manager Dolendra Prasad Sharma, apprised the Prime Minister of the government-owned publication house’s financial problems and its plans to improve its condition. He also informed PM Oli about the publications failure to provide salary to its employees for the past six months.
In response, the Prime Minister assured that the government would soon take a decision to sort out the problems at SP. “I am ready to support Sajha Prakashan if staffers of the organisation are ready to help me,” he said.
Former Education Minister and member of SP board of directors Pradip Nepal, Janak Siksha Samagri Kendra Managing Director Anil Kumar Jha and Prof Krishna Hari Baral were also present in the meeting.
Sajha Prakashan has failed to hold its general meeting for the past eight years, while some of its officials have also been accused of financial irregularities.
The publication house had been seeking Rs 200 million in loan for the government to solve its current problems.
