KATHMANDU: A pedestrian died after being hit by a truck at Samakhusi of Kathmandu on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Gehendra Prasad Sitaula (58) of Nuwakot, police said. Sitaula was residing at Manmaiju of Kathmandu.

Injured after being hit by the truck (Na 6 Kha 1570), he was rushed to the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital for treatment. He died there while undergoing treatment, police added.

The Metropolitan Police Sector, Gongabu, has arrested the truck driver and impounded the vehicle for further investigation.
