Saptari shooting planned to foil election environment, says Oli

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has argued that the death of four persons in a police firing on Monday took place to foil the election environment.

Addressing a programme organised by the party's Province No. 3 Organisation Committee relating to the incident here on Thursday,

Chairman Oli accused the government of trying not to hold the local polls.

He also urged the United Democratic Madhesi Front to carry out political activities if it was a political organisation.

Also the former Prime Minister, Oli blamed the government and the Madhesi Front that they remained silent even after the Seema Suraksha Bal (SSB) of India killed a Nepali local in Nepali territory today.

Similarly, UML Secretary Yogesh Bhattarai demanded that the government take action against those involved in the Saptari incident, saying his party's ideology would not vanish even after attacking the party offices and burning party flags in Madhes.

Likewise, UML leaders Lal Babu Pandit and Satya Narayan Yadav said that the Saptari incident took place after the Madhesi Front tried to disrupt the UML's peaceful mass gathering.
