Kathmandu, July 7:

Saunrain Sewa Kosh (SSK), a non-profit social service group, organised a free health camp for the needy at the Himal Dental Hospital in Chahabil today. The camp focused on eye and dental services. Hundreds of patients, mostly from the far-western and mid-west regions, benefited from it. “I never dreamt there could be a free service like this,” said KanchhiLama of Ramechhap, who had been suffering from a tooth ailment but could not afford the treatment. “Kathmandu’s dental hospitals are only for the rich,” she said. “For me this camp was a blessing.” The SSK’s goal is to help people who have come to the city in search of work, providing them free health care when needed. “People come to the capital with high expectations and dreams, but they encounter many difficulties,” said HDH director Rajendra Bhatta.
