Save agitating doc’s life: NHRC

KATHMANDU: The National Human Rights Commission on Friday issued a press release urging the government to employ all means to save Dr Govinda KC’s life.

The rights body also wrote letters today to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Health requesting to do the needful to save Dr KC’s life.

The NHRC said it had been continuously monitoring Dr KC’s health ever since he began fast unto death. The NHRC also urged the government to fulfil genuine demands of Dr KC and to end circumstances that could compel Dr KC to stage hunger strike repeatedly over same issues.

The rights body also urged the government to implement, in letter and spirit, the agreements signed between Dr KC and the government in the past.
