SC continues stay order on Army Generals

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court on Sunday continued its stay order which was issued against the government's decision to retire eight brigadier generals of Nepal Army.

Issuing a judgment on a writ filed by the government asking the Apex Court to vacate its stay order to reinstate eight brigadier generals to their jobs, a division bench comprising of justices Anup Raj Sharma and Prem Sharma said that there was no reason to vacate the order.

The final hearing on the case will start on May 31. The eight brigadier generals were forced into retirement after the defence ministry ignored the recommendation of the army headquarters to extend their terms by another three years.
