SC forms 5-member constitutional bench for hearing writs against house dissolution

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has formed a five-member constitutional bench under Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana to hear the writ petitions filed against the government for House dissolution.

Justices Bishwambhar Prasad Shrestha, Tej Bahadur KC, Anil Kumar Sinha and Hari Krishna Karki comprise the bench that will begin the hearings Friday.

The bench is expected to pronounce verdict on the government's move to dissolve the House of Representatives on December 20.

On the days following, as many as thirteen writs were filed against the government's action at the apex court.

Chief Justice Rana who presided over the initial hearings had transferred the twelve cases to constitutional bench on Wednesday while one of the writs were already sent to the same on Tuesday.
