SC forms panel on reforms in judiciary
Kathmandu, June 25:
The Supreme Court today formed a panel to study on how to effectively execute the court orders.
A division bench of Justices Ram Prasad Shrestha and Bala Ram KC today issued an order for the formation of such a committee under the coordination of SC Registrar and with representatives from the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs and the Nepal Bar Association.
The bench issued the order while scrapping a writ petition that challenged a 15-year-old court order asking defendant to pay back a loan.
The bench expressed serious concern over the legal provisions which allows delay in the implementation of court orders, resulting in non-implementation of the verdicts. There is a need to reform the judicial process to provide justice on time because it has been found that parties of the litigation have been creating hurdles in execution of court orders, the bench said.
