KATHMANDU, MAY 2

Four Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal lawmakers of the Lumbini Provincial Assembly - Bijay Bahadur Yadav, Santosh Kumar Pandey, Suman Rayamajhi, and Kalpana Pandey - who were expelled by the party's executive committee last week filed a petition at the Supreme Court challenging their expulsion, but the apex court refused to entertain their petition.

A meeting of the party's executive committee held last week had decided to remove these four party lawmakers of Lumbini PA from the party and from the PA.

Registrar of the SC Baburam Dahal stated that the SC had, on April 28, decided to entertain only habeas corpus writ petitions and petitions related to the COVID crisis during the lockdown. Hence, the four JSP-N leaders' petition could not be entertained. The SC said their petition would be registered after the lockdown.
