School guard murdered,

Lalitpur, September 23 :

A group of unidentified persons stabbed Krishna Bahadur Thapa Magar, a security guard of Shubha Tara Boarding School, to death. The group also made away with cash from the accounts section of the school yesterday night.

Thapa Magar, 54, a resident of Duwakot, Bhaktapur, was deployed at the accounts section of the school at Sanepa when the looters broke into the building.

“I have no idea how and when the incident exactly took place. I saw Krishna lying on the sofa in the morning and a money safe thrown outside the premises of the building,” Gopal Bhandari, another security guard, who was on duty yesterday night at the maingate of the school, said. The looters made away with one money safe from the accounts section, police said.

Sanubabu Thapaliya, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the Lalitpur District Police Office, said that Krishna was stabbed on the hands and head.

“Krishna might have tried to fight with them to stop them from taking away the safe. Looters, therefore, might have stabbed him,” Thapaliya said. Police, however, didn’t disclose how much money was looted from the school.

Thapa Magar was a security guard in the school for three years. There are 5-6 security guards in the school, the police said. Investigation is underway to identify and nab the culprits, the police added.
