The government has decided to start the second round of Covid-19 vaccination drive from April 20 to administer the second dose of vaccine to those who have received the first dose.

The drive will last for five days until April 24.

The second dose of Covid-19 vaccine will be administered on those who had received their first dose from January 27 to February 22, which included all health workers, government employees, security personnel, sanitation workers, journalists, diplomats and staffers at the diplomatic missions, staff of public corporation, and banks and financial institutions.

For this, the government has designated 19 health facilities as vaccination booths in Kathmandu. Bir Hospital, Paropakar Maternity and Women's Hospital, Sukraraj Tropical & Infectious Disease Hospital, Civil Service Hospital, National Ayurveda Research and Training Centre, Nepal Medical College, Kathmandu Medical College, Himal Hospital, Stupa Hospital, HAMS Hospital, Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Shahid Gangalal National Heart Centre, Birendra Hospital, Nepal APF Hospital, Nepal Police Hospital, Om Hospital & Research Centre, Chhetrapati Free Clinic (Hospital), Janamaitri Hospital, and Motherland Hospital have been listed as the vaccination centres for the capital city.

Those who are eligible for the second dose will have to bring their vaccination card handed to them during the first dose, when they visit the vaccination booths.

The government has also set the dates for the second doses of vaccination according to the day people received their first doses.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, those who received their first dose on January 27, 28, 29, 30, and February 8 will receive the second dose on April 20.

Similarly, those who received the first dose on January 31, February 1, 2, 3, and 9 will receive the second dose on April 21.

Those who received their first vaccine dose on February 4, 5, 6, 10, and 14 will receive the second dose on April 22.

Meanwhile, those who received first dose on February 11, 15, 16, 17, and 18 will receive second dose on April 23; and those who received first dose on February 12, 19, 20, 21, and 22 will receive the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine on April 24.

The vaccination will take place from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm every day for the five days.
