Second joint parliamentary committee formed

The federal Parliament today formed its second joint parliamentary committee named the Constitution Implementation and Monitoring Committee, which will monitor and evaluate the directives principles of state and policies, responsibilities and implementation of the constitution.
The first joint parliamentary committee was the Public hearing committee.
In a 15-member committee of joint Houses, the House of Representatives today endorsed 11 members from the House. The remaining four members will be decided by the National Assembly, the Upper House, of the Parliament.
Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara announced six lawmakers from the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP): Ganesh Singh Thagunna, Niru Devi Pal, Prabhu Shah, Bhim Rawal, Khem Lohani, Pampha Bhusal. Three lawmakers from the main opposition Nepali Congress — Minendra Rijal, Laxmi Pariyar and Dev Prasad Timilsina — were also included.
Anil Kumar Jha (Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal) and Durga Paudel(Rastriya Janamorcha) were also included. The NA is yet to decide on four lawmakers for the CIMC joint committee.
Including the CIMC committee, the Parliament has finished its duty of forming all the committees from the upper and lower Houses. The Federal Parliament has already formed 14 thematic committees — 10 from the Lower House and four from the Upper House. The parliament has also already formed the PHC.
The committees under the HoR are Public Account committee (27 members), Financial Committee (25 members), International Relations Committee (25 members), Industry, Commerce, Labour and Consumer Interest Committee (24 members), Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee (23 members), Agriculture, Cooperatives and Natural Resources Committee (25 members), Women and Social Committee (24 members), State Affairs and Good Governance Committee (26 members), Development and Technology Committee (27 members) and the Education and Health Committee (24 members).
The NA committees are Legislation Management Committee (14 members), Sustainable Development and Good Governance Committee (14 members), Committee on Delegated Legislation and Government Assurances (13 members) and the National Concern and Coordination Committee (14 members).
