Kathmandu, July 25

The Election Commission today said its former secretary Gopi Nath Mainali had returned vehicle and other electronic gadgets he had taken from the commission.

“He has returned all the facilities including vehicles, mobile set and laptop taken from the EC,” said a staffer at the EC’s administration section.

Earlier, the EC secretariat had written to Mainali, asking him to return vehicle and gadgets the polls panel had given him as facility. Mainali was transferred to the Prime Minister’s Office from the EC a month ago.

Mainali had alleged that he was transferred because he opposed EC office bearers’ decision to purchase luxury vehicles.
