Security guard caught for theft
KATHMANDU: A team deployed from the Metropolitan Police Crime Division arrested an absconding security guard, accused of stealing valuables worth Rs 4.49 million from own office, from Kalanki of Kathmandu, on Wednesday.
The accused has been identified as Ramesh Thapa (30), a permanent resident of Nagarkot Mahamanjushree Municipality-1, Bhaktapur and currently residing in Godavari of Lalitpur district.
Thapa, who had served the Nepal Army for nine years, had run away from the job and was working as a security guard at the Global Digital Pvt Ltd, Chabahil.
Police confiscated cash and other items including a Dell monitor, an LG monitor, an Apple laptop, a charger, two HP laptops, one Microsoft Service Prop, a DVD Drive, a CD bag, a hard drive, a Nokia mobile phone and two documents in his name.
Thapa has stole the items when nobody was present in the office, police said.
