Security guards barred from registering their union

Kathmandu, August 11:

A complaint was filed at the Teku Ward Police Office today seeking action against Madan Pokhrel and Kailash Thapa, accusing them of allegedly beating up some persons and looting mobile sets from the security guards of Group 4 Falck. The security guards had gone to the Labour Office to register their union.

Security guards of the Group 4 Falck, including Govinda Prasad Sharma, had filed the complaint against Kailash Thapa and Madan Pokhrel. Sharma accused them of allegedly beating up the security guards and destroying their documents related with the registration of the union.

When the Officer of the Labour Office, Barun Kumar Ojha, started official proceedings to register the union, a group of people including Thapa and Pokhrel who were there, destroyed the documents. The petitioners have sought legal actions against Thapa and Pokhrel under Public Security Act 2027 BS.
