Security inspection at Tribhuvan airport
Kathmandu, January 27:
A team comprising the representatives of the Tourism Ministry and security officials today conducted inspections at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) to test the airport’s safety and security measures. Although the security arrangements were found to be satisfactory, the team is expected to review the security measures. The team comprising the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal’s director general Rajesh Raj Dali, TIA manager Triratna Manandhar, Tourism Ministry officials and officials of the police and the army inspected both the domestic and international terminals.
Similarly, the team also inspected security equipment, said an aviation official. “The team was relatively satisfied with the security system. However, its [the team’s] upcoming meetings will decide if at all there are any changes to be made in the the airport’s security arrangements,” he said.
