Security scheme to end impunity, says Rawal

KATHMANDU: Home Minister Bhim Rawal today appealed to all the political parties to cooperate for the implementation of the special security plan of the ministry that aims at ending impunity by establishing law and order in the country.

Speaking at an interaction organised here, Rawal said all the political parties should sign the five-point commitment prepared by the Home Ministry. Stating that he had consulted all the political parties on the special plan, he said they were all positive towards it.

Rawal added that security forces of the nation were capable of maintaining law and order in the country. “I have already given directions to the heads of security forces for efficient and effective action to control increasing criminal activities,” Rawal added.

He said the Home Ministry would soon come up with a more concrete plan to improve the security situation in the nation. Rawal added that the government would hold talks only with those Tarai outfits who were politically motivated. “Stern action will be taken against the armed outfits with criminal intent,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Home Minister’s remarks come at a time when some of the Madhes-based political parties are contradicting the security plan.
