Series of lock-outs on cards at MSU offices

Kathmandu, March 21:

The All Nepal National Free Student Union (ANNFSU), Mahendra Sanskrit University (MSU) liaison committee, today organised an hour-long sit-in programme in front of the MSU contact office at Basantapur and announced a series of lock-out programmes from March 23 demanding the university officials to meet their five-point demands.

Ved Raj Gyawali, coordinator of ANNFSU, MSU unit, said that the union had already announced a series of protest programmes against the university administration. He said that the union was compelled to resort to lock-outs after their silent protests were ignored by the MSU administration.

The Leftist student union has announced an indefinite lock-out of the MSU contact office from March 23, protests in all Sanskrit educational institutes throughout the country from March 25 and an indefinite lock-out of the MSU central office in Dang from March 26.

The ANNFSU is demanding the university administration to meet their 24 demands forwarded by the ANNFSU primary committee to the Balmiki Bidhyapeeth on February 4 and increase the fund for scholarship. They are also demanding the university to nullify the FSU election at Balmiki Bidhyapeeth and announce new poll schedule at the earliest.

While they are demanding the execution of the 36-point demands which were endorsed by the University Council as per the agreement with the ANNFSU primary committee, they are also demanding for the implementation of the agreement between the seven student unions and the university regarding the issues at Teendhara Sanskrit Hostel.
