Seven held with arms
Kathmandu, August 21:
The Metropolitan Police Sector, Durbarmarg, last night arrested seven persons along with arms, police said today.
The police seized two country-made pistols, nine live bullets of the Self-Loading Rifle, three socket bombs, three dead-cuts and one knife from Tibet-Himalayan Hotel at Thamel. Ramesh Thapa, inspector at the police station, said that they arrested Bishal alias Gyanu Lama of Kavre, DIlip Parajuli of Sindhupalchowk, Anup Lama of Kavre, Raju Lama of Makawanpur, Kumar Magar of Dhading, Ram Bhujel of Nuwakot and Gambhirman Moktan of Rasuwa while they were planning to loot a house in the capital.
The police seized a paper describing major locations of financial houses in capital and hand-written map of the Valley. “We have increased our vigilance, as we received an information three days ago that armed people are getting organised in the area,” Thapa said. He said that those arrested were Maoist deserters.
