Seven student unions demand proportional system in FSU polls

Kathmandu, February 8

Seven student organisations, close to different fringe parties, demanded implementation of fully proportional system in the upcoming Free Student Union elections.

The student unions also demanded that the election system set by Tribhuvan University for FSU polls be scrapped. They complained that the Tribhuvan University had yet to respond to their demand for investigation into admission of fake students by colleges ahead of FSU polls.

FSU elections have been scheduled for February 25.

Issuing a joint statement on Wednesday, All Nepal National Independent Student Union (Revolutionary), close to Netra Bikram Chand, Socialist Student Forum, Rastriya Prajatantrik Student Union, Nepal Loktantrik Student Front, Nepal Student Manch, ANNISU (Revolutionary) and Rastrabadi Student Union demanded that the TU create environment for FSU polls by addressing their concerns and ensuring fully proportional system of elections.
