Simran wins the title of Miss Tamang 2018

KATHMANDU: Simran Syangbo of Parsa has been crowned Miss Tamang 2018 in Miss Tamang Beauty and Talent Contest held at Hotel Soaltee Crowne Plaza here on Saturday.

Simran outclassed 28 competitors to clinch the title of the 11th edition of the contest. She was crowned by Pinky Ghising, the former title-holder.

In the event organised by Nepal Tamang Art and culture Centre in joint venture with Everest fashion Home, Simran bagged the prize of Rs 100,000 along with the title. In addition, she will also be the brand ambassador of Civil Group for a year.

Similarly, Ranjita Lama of Nuwakot was the first runner-up as well as the winner of the Image Viewer Choice title , Kunchhen Lama of Kathmandu was declared Second runner-up and the Photo Viewers Choice title.

Likewise, Rupa Ghising won the Best Catwalk title, Aashiqa Bal the Best Personality title, Geetanjali Pakhrin of Makawanpur won the Beautiful Smile title, Simran Lama the Best Friendship title, Kristina Lama the Best Discipline title and Priyanka Lama the Best Beautiful Hair title.

 

According to Mila Moktan, founder of the centre, the key purpose for organising such program each year is to preserve the art, culture, costumes and tradition of Tamang Community.

 

The best 10 contestants — between the age group of 16 to 26 — were decided on the basis of SMS voting.

Miss Tamang Beauty Contest that has been taking place since 2006.

In the occasion Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority, Kulman Ghising and 16 lawmakers from the Tamang community were feted in recognition of their contribution to their respective fields.
