Singing contest organised

Kathmandu, August 19

The Radio Nepal and the Children’s Development Society organised a nationwide singing contest today among children to mark the 78th auspicious birthday of the Queen Mother and 41st National Children’s Day. Twenty-four children took part in the day-long competition.

Inaugurating the contest, the Information Minister, Tanka Dhakal, said: “The government has been extending cooperation for the mental and physical development of children.” Dhakal added that social service organisations can play a crucial role in children’s development. He further said their talent should be put to proper use.
