Kathmandu, March 9:

Police yesterday arrested six hooligans from different parts of the city.

Those arrested were identified as Harka Bahadur Khadka, 35 of Barhabise village development committee-3 Sindhupalchowk district, Chhering Dorje Tamang, 23, of Ghorthali village development committee-4, Nabin Khadka, 23 of Sanophalate-5, Jeevan Thapa, 28, of Jalbire-2, Tirtha Gurung, 22, of Dumradharapani-5 Khotang district and Rakesh Majhi, 23, of Bankhudri of Kavre district.

The six were arrested from Gauraghat of Kathmandu Metropolitan City with fake pistols and khukuris.

Police have charged the six persons with terrorising people, extorting money and looting.

Police teams have been deployed in different parts of the capital city to maintain law and order, deputy superintendent of police Pitambar Adhikary of the Valley Crime Investigation Branch (VCIB) said.
