Kathmandu, May 24:

Police have arrested six thieves from different parts of the valley along with valuables, including gold ornaments, and weapons they had been using for looting.

Those arrested are Bir Bahadur Shrestha, 21, Narayan Shrestha, 26, Rakesh Shrestha, 20, Anil Shrestha, 21, Sunil Shrestha, 20 and Leela Shrestha all from Managau of Dolakha district.

Police claimed that the group of six used to break into houses in different parts of the valley. Valuables, cash and weapons have been seized from them. They include 9.21 tola of gold ornaments, 9.11 tola of silver ornaments, a TV set, two cameras, a mobile phone set, five watches and Rs 28,705.

Police also seized five rods and two khukuris from the thieves.
