KATHMANDU: Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota’s Press Adviser Shreedhar Neupane issued a press note on Tuesday, stating reasons for his absence in Tuesday’s Constitutional Council meeting.

Neupane said the speaker was aware of his constitutional roles and duties and he had been neutral and impartial in the Parliament ever since he was elected to the post of speaker.

Neupane said Sapkota believed that there should be adequate homework and coordination between members of the Constitutional Council before it met, but that didn’t happen and Sapkota had informed the prime minister about it.
