Speaker draws attention of lawmakers to their meagre turnout

KATHMANDU: Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara has drawn the attention of the House of Representatives (HoR) to the low attendance of lawmakers in the House sessions.

Speaker Mahara raised this point in the meeting of the HoR today as the parliament continues discussions on government's policies and programmes, saying some newspapers had brought out the issue of lawmakers' low turnout in the parliamentary deliberations.

He called for the government representatives to be present in the HoR on time during its discussion sessions.

Likewise, he also drew the attention of the Members of Parliament, who are putting forth their views on the policies and programmes, to do so within the allotted time.
