KATHMANDU: Speaker Subas Chandra Nembang is likely to resign from his post on Wednesday.

Nembang might announce his resignation prior to a meeting of the Parliament scheduled for 3 pm today. The Parliament meeting will begin the process of electing speaker.

It has been learned that the parties would be given only one day to find common candidate for speaker and if they failed to produce common name, the Parliament would hold election for the post by Saturday.
