KATHMANDU: Speaker Onsari Gharti on Thursday called on President Bidya Devi Bhandari to discuss about the latest political developments in the nation.

The Spear reached President's Office in Baluwatar this afternoon to meet the Head-of-the-State, following her meeting with the top leaders of three major political parties in Singhadarbar.

Matters relating to the revised constitution amendment bill, impeachment motion filed against Sushila Karki and remaining process with this regard and the upcoming local-level election were discussed in the meeting, said Babin Sharma, Speaker's press advisor.

During the meeting, Speaker informed the President that the Parliament would go ahead with the impeachment motion being based on the set precedents.

Meanwhile, the discussion on constitution amendment bill was halted as per the political understanding.

As many as 249 lawmakers from the NC and CPN MC on April 30 had registered an impeachment motion against Karki at the Legislature-Parliament.
