Speaker Onsari Gharti takes oath
KATHMANDU: President Ram Baran Yadav on Sunday administered oath of office and secrecy to newly elected Speaker Onsari Gharti at Sheetal Niwas on Sunday.
UCPN-Maoist leader and former Deputy Speaker Gharti was unanimously elected the Speaker of the Legislature Parliament on Friday.
With the victory, the Maoist leader had become the first woman to lead the legislative body in Nepal’s parliamentary history.
She also assumed the office at the Parliament Secretariat today itself.
